Access Ladder — Cage Extending Above Roof Level

Ladder 3 extends the safety cage above the reservoir roof level, providing a secure handhold at the most hazardous part of any vertical ladder descent: the transition at the top opening. When a reservoir access hatch is flush with the surrounding floor, the person climbing out loses cage contact before their feet reach solid ground — a moment where a fall risk is highest. The cage extension above the opening provides grip through the full transition from ladder to floor level, eliminating this gap in fall protection.

This configuration is specified for flush-floor access hatches in basements, underground tanks, and mikveh facilities where the opening sits at or below the finished floor surface. Both dimensions are custom: the depth below roof (reservoir height) and the cage extension above the opening are each specified at order.
